Business Context and Purpose

For this project, I created a full communication strategy and brand identity for Snow & Quill Café, a small (albeit theoretical) local coffee shop built around creativity, calm, and connection. The goal was to build materials that feel consistent and thoughtful while showing how good design and clear writing can shape a business. The café’s main purpose is twofold: to introduce itself to the public through welcoming, polished materials, and to help new employees understand its values and expectations through an internal guide.

Stakeholders and Audience
The main audience includes students, writers, and remote workers who want a comfortable place to think, study, and recharge. The secondary audience includes future employees, local partners, and community members who value mindful design, good coffee, and sustainable practices. Every part of this project, from the website to the press release, speaks to these audiences in a tone that’s warm, creative, and easy to understand.

Creative Strategy and Deliverables
My goal was to make all the pieces work together visually and strategically.

  • Logo Suite: The logos use soft calligraphy, a quill nib, and books to represent the creativity and calm of this cafe.

  • Website: Built with Wix’s AI website generator, then customized by me. I added sections for News and Press Releases, Employee Onboarding, Menu, and Write-Up, so the site acts as both a public hub and a portfolio of this project.

  • Press Release: Introduces Snow & Quill Café to the community in a friendly, down-to-earth way, focusing on creativity and connection.

  • Menu: Combines practical layout with personality. Each drink name tells a small story and helps reinforce the café’s literary feel.

  • Employee Onboarding Guide: Shares the café’s values, expectations, and safety basics. It keeps the tone friendly and motivating, showing new hires how they fit into the bigger picture.

Use of AI Tools
I used AI tools to help me plan and refine my work but made all creative and content decisions myself. Wix’s AI builder created the first draft of the website, which I then edited and redesigned to match my brand. ChatGPT helped me outline sections, improve flow, and polish grammar. These tools supported my process but didn’t create the final products. Everything you see was customized, rewritten, and styled by me.

Tone, Design, and Medium
The overall tone is calm, creative, and confident. The design uses rose-pink, espresso-brown, and gold colors to create warmth and elegance. I chose serif and script fonts to reflect both professionalism and artistry. Across all formats, I kept the look consistent so every piece feels connected.

Connection to Business Goals
Together, these deliverables present Snow & Quill Café as a thoughtful, trustworthy local brand. The website and press release help reach the public, the menu adds character, and the onboarding guide strengthens internal communication. By blending digital and print content, I built a brand that feels both polished and personal.

Measuring Effectiveness
The success of these materials could be measured through website visits, local coverage, social engagement, and employee feedback. If people recognize the café’s tone, values, and design across different platforms, that means the communication is working.

Reflection
Throughout this project, I thoughtfully brought together creative writing, intentional design, and strategic planning to build a complete and cohesive identity for Snow & Quill Café. Each component played a distinct role: the logo suite established a visual language through soft calligraphy and book-inspired imagery; the website, initially scaffolded with AI and then carefully customized, became both a public hub and a portfolio; the press release introduced the café to the community, focusing on approachability and connection; the menu blended practical structure with literary personality; and the employee onboarding guide fostered a positive team culture by clearly sharing values and expectations.

Supporting these efforts, I used AI tools to streamline planning and editing, but ensured that every creative decision and final detail was my own. By maintaining consistency in color, typography, and tone (favoring rose-pink, espresso-brown, and gold, alongside script and serif fonts) I made sure that every piece, whether digital or print, felt interconnected and true to the café’s character.

Ultimately, these steps and deliverables worked in harmony to present Snow & Quill Café as a thoughtful, trustworthy local brand. The website and press release expanded public reach, the menu added warmth and personality, and the onboarding guide strengthened team cohesion. Measuring success through website visits, community engagement, and employee feedback, I saw the value of clear, unified communication. This project not only gave Snow & Quill Café a full and distinctive identity, but also deepened my understanding of how writing, design, and smart use of technology can bring a creative vision to life.
