Hello

In my journey as technical writer, I have honed my skills in user manuals, guides, and instructional materials that resonate with diverse audiences.

I believe in the power of clarity and precision, ensuring that everything I create not only informs but also empowers users to navigate complex systems with ease.

Collaborating closely with teams, I strive to understand their unique needs tailor resources that enhance productivity and foster a culture of continuous improvement. My passion lies in bridging the gap between intricate concepts and user-friendly documentation.

My Story

My path into technical writing began during my English degree, when I enrolled in a 200-level Professional and Technical Writing course. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that class would shape nearly everything that followed. The structure, clarity, and problem-solving nature of technical writing felt like the perfect match for the way I think and work. From that point on, I intentionally aligned my coursework around professional, technical, and business writing.

Professionally, my foundation started at the Department of Homeland Security, where I developed job guides, training manuals, presentations, reports, and workflow documentation. While working there, I also developed my management style by guiding agents through quality improvements, coaching, and consistent process-driven feedback. That experience gave me a strong understanding of how documentation directly affects training, performance, and organizational success.

From there, I moved into technical writing and editing at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, where I honed my skills even further. I created templates for long-term use, standardized documents, and edited a wide variety of materials for clarity and consistency. This work made me confident in my abilities as a technical communicator and reinforced how much I enjoy supporting teams through clear, well-structured documentation.

Today, I’m completing my degree at the University of New Mexico and expect to graduate next month. My academic work has expanded my writing range beyond technical communication, refined my editorial skills, and strengthened my ability to approach writing with both precision and flexibility.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy traveling and have explored much of the United States, along with trips throughout Europe many years ago. I also love cooking and baking, especially cakes, which gives me a creative outlet that feels worlds apart from technical documentation — but every bit as satisfying.
