NM Weekend Travel Brochure
This travel-lifestyle project is an eight-page promotional brochure encouraging New Mexico residents to take quick weekend trips to scenic destinations throughout the state. Built around the message “Stay local. Feel miles away,” the design pairs large, inviting photographs with concise, mood-setting copy. Each travel feature focuses on a different region—such as Cimarron Canyon’s forested trails and waterfalls, the water adventures of Santa Rosa’s Blue Hole, Ruidoso’s mountain hikes and riverside views, the natural hot springs of Truth or Consequences, the historic sandstone bluffs of El Morro, and the surreal formations of the De-Na-Zin Wilderness.
Across the layout, the brochure blends tourism storytelling with clear visual hierarchy, using color consistency, image placement, and minimal text to maintain an approachable, magazine-style feel. The final page invites readers to follow a fictional social media account, reinforcing the “Weekend Southwest” theme and creating continuity across the piece. Completed as a design-focused class assignment, this project demonstrates foundational skills in visual rhetoric, layout design, destination marketing, and crafting persuasive travel content.
