Snow & Quill Café is a complete conceptual business created as a multi-deliverable communication, design, and branding project. Rooted in a literary aesthetic and built around the idea of offering a quiet, creativity-supportive space, the café’s entire identity was crafted to feel warm, calm, and thoughtful. The brand foregrounds writing, reflection, and the beauty of language—represented through the calligraphic logo, the quill nib, flowing letterforms, book imagery, and feather symbolism drawn from your personal history with typography and your maiden name, Fairweather. These symbolic details allow the brand to feel artistic and intimate while still cohesive and professional.

 

The project includes a fully designed food and drink menu, where each item reinforces the literary theme through playful, story-like names—such as the Quill Latte, Frost Mocha, and Editor’s Club—and descriptions crafted to evoke writing, ink, paper, and quiet creativity. The menu serves as both a functional café artifact and an example of strategic tone, visual alignment, and brand storytelling.

 

Another significant deliverable is the Business Project Write-Up, which outlines the café’s purpose, stakeholders, branding strategy, audience considerations, design decisions, and use of AI tools. This document explains how you intentionally built a communication ecosystem that serves both public-facing needs (press release, website, menu) and internal operational needs (onboarding guide, brand voice, expectations, safety, accessibility, and staff procedures). It highlights how color palette, typography, warm tone, and paced design elements work together to reinforce the brand’s identity as a calm, creative refuge for students, writers, and remote workers.

 

The Onboarding Mini-Guide expands the brand into staff-facing documentation, giving Snow & Quill its operational voice. It introduces employees to the café’s values—craft, accessibility, kindness, consistency—and provides detailed service standards, checklists, allergen protocols, accessibility practices, emergency instructions, and training milestones. This deliverable shows your ability to build clear, human-centered technical documentation that matches the tone and aesthetic of the brand while ensuring usability and operational clarity.

 

Together, the menu, write-up, onboarding guide, logo suite, and website form a fully imagined brand system that demonstrates your strengths in writing, visual design, operational documentation, and conceptual development.
